I am a Hertfordshire Family Photographer, based in Hatfield near St Albans

My family photography sessions normally last around 1 - 2 hours and are taken during golden hour, this is the last hour or two before the sun sets in the evening.

Honestly, it's always the right time for an outdoor family photography session! There is no specific perfect age for your children and the session is a fabulous idea if you just want some lovely photographs of you all together, to celebrate a wedding anniversary or to celebrate a special birthday.

Yes! During golden hour, the sun is much lower in the sky and the light is much more flattering. Not only does this time give us the most beautiful golden glow, its cooler in the summer and basically gives you flawless skin!

Yes, it happens! We are in England!

Generally if it is dry on the day then we will go ahead with the session. Of course if it is raining, or due to rain then we can reschedule. I religously check multiple weather apps and will normally make the call in the morning on the day day of your photoshoot.

The best time to book in your outdoor family photography session with me is now. Honestly hand on heart. I only shoot outdoors between May-October and I only take on a handful of sessions each month to allow for the great British weather to be well, British!

I have more of a non traditional style of photography and consider myself of a lifestyle photographer. My sessions are built around a mixture of natural, real moments and staged poses, although this is more me just giving you some direction. I life for the candid moments, capturing the connections and love between you and your family.

Yes I can, your clothing is one of the most important things about the session, it's what gives your photographs that "look" and "feel" that you just won't get if you randomly pull a shirt out your wardrobe on the morning of the shoot. I am more than happy to help you piece all outfits together from your own clothing or I can advise you what to buy for you and your whole family if you wanted to purchase something special for the occation.

Yes, absolutely! In all honesty, most of my clients admit to feeling self conscious. But we can actually use this to our advantage, there is no pressure to look at the camera and I will photograph you in a way your most natural, just having fun with your kids. You will absolutely love the end results.
